Invisible Records! 2019
An answer to "How are you feeling, Dubem?" and an addition to the "BlackBoiButterfly" saga.
10.9 Wetsuit Radio! (drafts) 2020
This was previously going to be something of a debut project for me, complete with a campaign and my first jump into doing music but I don't know, along the way, this wasn't me anymore. I scrapped this as a means to "kill my child", but I ah well, I feel like sharing it still?
This project was an exploration into my identity through multiple music artist aliases I just kinda made up.
'Okafloka Flame', a rapper whose songs were verbal manifestations of me "popping" or becoming rich but then become verbal anxieties about my hubris getting me killed. (also white women) 'Canterbury Fernadez', a "bedroom pop singer" that was my 'vehicle' for talking about me liking girls but now those songs make me feel stupid cuz they are currently flipped on me. 'Kene and the Coochie Club' is a "band" which doubles as THE EMBODIMENT OF MY FEARS OF INTIMACY. The song, "Underwear/WARNING" is not here because it speaks of a really serious and traumatic event I had and I deemed it to delicate to release?
Evangelista 2018
A winter break experiment and love letter to Pose on FX's Blanca Evangelista.
SECOND SEMESTER SENIOR* 2021
*A musical project formally known as: "Perception Picture Book", "Wetsuit Radio! 2.0", ion know, I almost said fuck it...
The execution of this collection of songs work as a reflection on Dubem's summer 2020 and overall contemplation of self moving forward. The failed video dairy project lives here as a quilted narrative of Dubem whining a bunch.
